Want to learn scripting from scratch so if anyone knows any links that could get me started then that'll be a big help.

  The DOCUMENTATION.txt files in the /Maps directory contains all the info.  Also looking at the .txt script files of other scenarios helps.

Would like to throw my 2 cents,  err, i mean, my 2 miniscule slivers of a doubloon,  worth in.   Currently waiting for my full version of the game, to arrive by, err,  by privateers wearing brown shorts, so i'm messing around with the demo version.  Have already found out i'll never be a scriptur, as the Documentation.txt gives me a headache. 
LOL.   But,  i have found that the doc files given out by CafeDave have helped clarify some things immensely.   Tons of cuddos goes out to him for that.   Took me 2 days,  just to make small changes to the Demo for one of the scenarios.  ***glues hair back on scalp***  Just like to say thanks to all the natural-scripters out there, for all they do, can't wait to try out some of the scenarios that are available once the full version arrives.  Flagons of Grog all around.

  That's all the info I know - DOCUMENTATION.TXT.  Looking at the script files of the disc scenarios is also helpful.  There is also a file called PLAYER SAMPLE.txt (also in the \Maps directory);  btw that file has the year length incorrect:  it should be 3650,  not 3600.
