People seem to be happier when they feel spiritually
fulfilled. Go figure. The lack of a religious sector may
not bring your island to ruin and revolt, but a few churches sure
can help pacify the commoners. Unfortunately, it can also
lead to resentment of the less ethical forms of income. The
casinos, cabarets and nightclubs, for instance. 
But without the churches, your people are upset
a lot, they don't work well, they commit more crime... Okay,
maybe just a few churches and the occasional trip to Confession...  |
