TNL went absolutely crazy with the announcement of Ikaruga, Treasure's psuedo-sequel to the insanely expensive Japan-exclusive Sega Saturn game, Radiant Silvergun. News of the game's release for the Sega Dreamcast (and later Nintendo GameCube) resulted in an explosion of excitement and speculation. Enthusiasm for the game acted as an early litmus test of one's hardcore gamer credentials.

The 2,515 post thread spanned 51 pages and nearly two years worth of wasted time [1]. It is one of TNL's longest.
