Kano On The Phone placed in the top 3 of the semi-national Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance skill tournament in early 2004.

Later, Kano On The Phone moved on to the national tournament. [1] (The linked thread is most notable for haohmaru's embarrassing attempts at insults and Lhadatt completely believing he had owned omfgninjas and Kano On The Phone by declaring the contest as a fraud.) Though he had to contend with some frustrating Sonya Blade LP+LP+HP+HK combo abuse (which as we all know is a 26% damage combo that anyone can pull off infinitely), Kano On The Phone managed to secure another top 3 placement. Details can be found at [the unofficial Kano on the Phone victory page].

In pro and semi-pro Mortal Kombat tournaments at both the national and semi-national levels, fatalities are considered taboo. However, the underground Black Tournaments are considered no holds barred and fatalities are permitted.
