The initial idea for a dedicated TNL chatroom was suggested by station82o, in a long purged suggestion thread, to which Nick agreed to create. #tnl was founded on chatsolutions.co.uk in April of 2003, and endured several peaks and valleys of usage. The first Great Awakening of interest occured in summer of 2004, which was followed by the Great Decline from January 2005 until the spring of 2005. The Second Great Awakening occured directly after this in the summer of 2005, with Maruchan sparking new fervor and interest. #tnl has enjoyed a healthy population since this period of time, and although Gohron thinks a Second Decline is near to surface, he's a noob. station82o returned to #tnl full time in early August of 2009, marking the end of an unusually lengthy absence for the founder. DNG has been the chief lord administrator of #tnl for a considerable amount of time, responsibility for its upkeep falls on his weary shoulders.
