Zidane747 is a former TNL member. By the time of his permabanning in 2002, he was reviled and despised by almost everyone. Most of this hate stemmed from his incomprehensible, pathological obsession with Metal Gear Solid 2. Today, he is remembered as the biggest laughingstock in TNL history.

History

Obsessing over a video game is common enough, especially on the Internet. Zidane747 was more galvanizing than other Internet weirdoes for two reasons. First, Metal Gear Solid 2 was at the time experiencing a major fanboy backlash due to its controversial character choices and nonsensical plot. MGS2 was so deeply loathed that the prospect of some twerp babbling about his MGS2 obsession was more than most TNL members could bear. But it was the ingratiating clumsiness of his obsession that really made him both pathetic and incredibly humorous. (He even liked Raiden. [2]) Through it all, Zidane747 really just wanted to be accepted as part of the TNL gang, even though his MGS2-philia made it impossible.

Zidane747 once participated in an MGS2 skill tournament. [3]

Zidane747 spent 30 hours beating Metal Gear Solid his first time through, much to the shock of TNL members. [4]

Zidane747 once beat MGS2 on Extreme with his eyes closed. [5]

Zidane747 and Julie747

In June 2002, Zidane747 earned his place in TNL history. One day he posted ecstatically to the boards that a gaming girl (who's a friend), would be staying with him for the summer. [6] He presumptively stated she would be posting under the name Aeris4eva. Soon she began posting under the even less imaginative name Julie747. [7] All hell broke loose. Eventually it was determined that Julie747 did not exist, and was in fact created by Zidane747.
