I hope I get at least half as many calls in these upcoming three days off as I seem to get during the days that I'm at my bullshit retail job. On that subject, a full day of use with the broomstick, as mentioned yesterday, does seem to have helped in respect of the pain felt in my hands and fingers. I'll have to be careful that this new method doesn't put too much strain on my back. On the subject of work: A response came to a time off request that I had put in about a month ago. ...
Played through this, and in general, my thoughts match most others here. The game is good. Played through once, 100%. I enjoyed exploring and picking up things. Most of the level design is very good. Like others have said, if you play through this again, you're doing it for no reason but you want to go through it again. Not necessarily a bad thing, but its against the norm these days. Story is kind of pathetic. The NPCs are pretty generic and obvious. It didn't bug ...
File this under the "Why didn't I think of this months ago, you god damned retard?" tab. I've struggled with how to deal with pushing carts by hand for my entire day, week in and week out, and have tried various positions and holds to not put as much strain on my fingers and wrists. In particular, the approach of a full line from a corral to the vestibule takes the most effort, and I have become acclimated to lifting the first cart by the bottom enough to brace my body against the handlebar ...
Today's truncated post is brought to you by Daylight Savings Time, or the incoming lack thereof. I really never had a record for The Theme from Flo-Jack? OK. I had a good feeling with Saynoara Superstar, and surprised that I still didn't score as well as I felt. Platonic XXX has flunked me out at least twice now, maybe even more since the last clear? I climbed back up to 72% at the end but just ran out of gas. Bad scratch chords almost knocked me out of Take On Me - now that would ...
At 230PM earlier today I was scheduled to work with another cart pusher who has been with the company for more than a decade, but whom I haven't seen much at all in the previous months as he was consistently scheduled for the evening shifts. There were a total of four people scheduled today, and upon seeing me he asks if that is true, which I verify and hand him my note of today's schedule for him to see for himself. He looks it over, says "OK", folds it into his pocket, then immediately ...
I get called by Mother soon after waking up because she cannot figure out how to scan a document using the all-in-one printer that they have purchased some time ago. For whatever reason, she was under the impression that the only way that a document can be scanned is for it to be instantly emailed, rather than saved to a machine. I show up, and lo-and-behold, the process works this time when it never did before. To be fair, the machine that the printer is hooked up to is a decade ...
Job applications to sort through. Bad news on the door step. I couldn't take one more step. Had a huge workout with the opening pair of songs that made things seem rather sedate overall afterward. It's looking like my clear of Fun was a fluke of a lucky chart, or at least today's wasn't so friendly. Lunar Beat. Extra Mode. Double play. "@" denotes Random chart modifier. All songs are of highest difficulty type unless specified. Code: EX% ...

The snowblower was put to good use today. I didn't use it in two years, but it was used a single time so far, so I would have been pretty dismayed if it hadn't worked. The electric starter definitely helps that out, as I probably would have dislocated my arm if I were to use the pull string crank. All the more reason that I'm happy for that much is that my mother in law's car needs a repair of a support spring, one of which already broke on a different side of the car. Bye bye $800. ...
A bullshit local holiday combined with the threat of a high amount of incoming snowfall led more people to come to the store today than they did yesterday, which is definitely not how Mondays are supposed to play out in comparison to Sundays. A coworker called off which meant that I was alone until 230PM, and that sealed the deal. There's a few people who play IIDX and would howl in pain at looking at today's song selection. I thought I had an entry for Ska A Go Go but more than likely ...
I really didn't enjoy this game. I'll try to explain, but I've thought about it a lot of different ways and I don't think this is going to flow very well. A bunch of people on TNL had nothing but praise for this, especially compared to the DS game, which people seemed to like much less. Could be that I had too high hopes, but I really think its worse, by a lot. First, I think my TV lag is doing a serious number on my timing. Of course, RH is supposed to be all about ...

The latest project going on at the parent's house is that they are uprooting all of the tile and kitchen cabinet surface to make way for a new coating. The color will be a dark and rocky texture, as opposed to the former white colored motif. I was summoned there to resolve a question and come again to see a situation which I find to be poorly worded in instructions and leads to confusion when people do things that have all aspects of it required to be reported by the persons involved rather than ...
Apparently, sending out resumes is currently interpreted as "sending out an indication that I want to enroll in more college classes". My phone rang no less than five times - three by the same college, and all calls before 10AM on a Saturday - to have people pester me about signing up for a degree program. Much the same as it has been since I earned my Enrolled Agent title, the only correspondence that I seem to get in respect of anything I want to do for my career are people trying to ...
In response to the resumes that I've been sending out, my mailbox is definitely getting more clutter. I also was privileged to have a phone call come in from a new kind of telemarketer. The person introduces himself through a very thick Indian accent and mentions that he represents some sort of free educational service, and asks what fields I'm interested in. I mention taxation and programming, and confirm as much after he repeatedly asks me the question a few more times. Finally he quickly rattles ...
I sent an email with resume attached directly to two addresses which requested to have them received for a job posting, and they have both bounced back as unsendable. Meanwhile, I have received an official rejection for a posting that I applied to which I was led to see from my Dad's work. Ah, the sweet smell of rejection. How I've missed it. So, again, the reason that I ever got into doing the tax stuff on my own to begin with is for days like these. I guess I'll just have to keep at this for a ...
A customer is lost. I was given some papers to read over and I misread a birthyear as 1988 instead of the proper 1998. I sent communication afterward to convey my mistake and the resultant adjustments, which were greatly beneficial and resulted in a net refund instead of a small amount to owe, but I have just received word that she will return to her old preparer regardless. I have had this happen several times this year now, where I have rushed to answer a question or prepare a statement, only ...
