Soul blazer is a short, sweet, and generally pleasant game that focuses on raising questions about life as well as the after-life rather than challenging the player. Underneath the rather silly translation –people are defeated instead of killed, as if this were some kind of duel – is a thought-provoking experience coupled with one of the better soundtracks in an SNES game.

If you follow the fighting game tourney scene you know FLOe. For whatever insane reason he's been streaming games like "I wanna be the guy", "I wanna be the boshy", and all those other incredibly unfair platformers. Lots of failure, tons of cussing, and all that other good stuff is expected.

Risen is the spiritual sequel to the Gothic series and you all know what that entails. In this grand adventure our hero washes up on an island without so much as a pair of shoes. The first Two Worlds game may have been one of the worst and/or most broken games to hit the Xbox 360. It's the end of the year and like everyone else who has said something about a videogame, I have to start thinking about picking favorites. Honestly I never saw the appeal, mostly because there just isn't enough time for me to play the games that I think are deserving of such regard. Also if I were to choose right now I'd come up with absolutely nothing. Unlike last year I don't have a handful of titles that I really connected with and felt that they were truly special.

Youtube-quality graphics, one-dimensional game-design, and what the heck I actually played through this game? I'm sitting on a stack of games that include the likes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the ICO/SOTC set, and a bunch of other games that are supposedly really good.
