If you want to partake in the festivities, all you need to do is activate the online pass code that came with Dragon Age II, play the game while logged in to your EA account (you might have done both these things already), then enter your online pass code at http://social.bioware.com/me2offer/ to claim your free game. This is for a downloadable copy of Mass Effect 2 via the EA Download Manager only.
The whole system worked very smoothly for me when I tried it last night, and I couldn't be happier about it. All the Cerberus Network content is also included, so unless you're on dial-up or don't have a decent PC, there's no part of this offer that isn't good news. There's even a workaround if you've lost your pass code.
