The meeting with the estate attorney was actually useful today, and long story short, I am now a contractor for the purpose of supervising the implementation of my message board idea as well as one of the main data entry persons once the framework is in place. There's still a lot to have put in place between now and when that happens, but at least the long walk towards the ultimate end has taken one big step here, and the implication of regular communication means that this annual ritual of contacting each other should be over.
