Complications have arisen with the addition of the BL2 GOTY add on disc with my friend's version of the game, as he had acquired the base game as a digital download. The add-on disc has a general patch which has been superseded by a more recent patch online. When I acquired and went about installing all the content, I received a warning when I tried installing the patch that was on the disc. Apparently, he received no such warning and when he subsequently tried to play the game with the rest of us online, he was unable to join anything. The only resolution he could think to do was uninstall everything, and that did enable him to resume play with us (although with having all of his ability points reset). Tonight I hope to help confirm that it is only the update patch at fault and that the rest of the content can be safely installed. We shall see.

I need to get to work on these returns. Simple enough but I think I'll be having a few mails exchanged to make sure I have all information from them that I need before I get it shipped away.

Oh yeah, the phone interview happened this morning. I wonder if my honesty about having not done any prior work with the entire Offer In Compromise process nor having to negotiate directly with the IRS in respect of Installment Agreements was my undoing. I did get the polite response of the next step being the in person interview, and they did mention that they are looking to hire a few dozen people, so I don't think I'm necessarily already out of contention - it's really a question of how willing they are to take a relative chance on me and how many other people they are able to entice into employment. I guess I'll find out by next Tuesday at latest.

Songs. I've stated a few times in the years when discussing IIDX with new players, that the way the difficulty progression feels in it, is that there is a period of time where it just seems like everything is incomprehensible and impossible, and for no good reason some next day comes along as if the blinders were lifted from your eyes and things are different. The past few days have also had some surprising large jumps here and there, but I was taken aback by a few of the increases I had today. In the past eight times that I've played Jack, the highest EX score I earned was 1686. The most recent previous play's score was 1502. Today's score was 1954. That's an increase of 268 points over the old record. I'm pretty sure my first play of Connective was a 50% C or thereabouts. Replay had a result which shown me surpassing the record throughout the entire chart. It just seems so very odd to me that I can have days like this where progress appears to be so dramatic.
