The party went well, in consideration for its purpose and intent. There were a lot of people there. My wife's picture that we gave as a gift was well received. I got to tell some trucking tales, and then leave early on out of consideration for my sleep schedule.

Upon the return trip home, my wife made the observation that most people still don't even address her by name upon the initial greeting. We've been married for five years. Yeah, OK, we usually don't take meausres to converse with people upon every available moment and go around from one person or group to the next. We usually don't bring up general topics to try to provoke conversation for the sake of doing so. It can be said that we could probably stand to exert more effort in interacting with other people at events like this. Fine. But still - it's her name. My wife has a name. She exists. Acknowledge that much, at least, please.

Anyway. Now to see about squeezing a nap in here.
