I think I'm finally at a point where I can manage my time properly on the weekends. I didn't succumb to any kind of extra naps through the course of the days.

A while ago I wrote that reading Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds was going to be quick and entertaining, but unfortunately I said as much before I reached this chapter on alchemy. The tone of the narrative didn't suddenly change, but reading one account to the next of a given person who was brought up in a given country and studied under a given priest and had these given friends in nobility and on and on, and this kind of tale repeats over and over again; it has become very difficult for me to keep attention and desire to continue reading. On the surface of it, tales of the kind of lies and fictions which people managed to spread and perpetuate should be interesting enough, but I think the sheer volume and variety of people and places to consider is simply wearing me down.

At least I managed to get a few kanji lines written down today, and it was the first time in a while for that.

Otherwise, I took care of some necessary business, which included mowing the lawn and correcting an issue with my license. I also took the time to round up a bunch of old clothes to donate. That all felt good to get done.

Songs started out OK enough but it looks like I just ran out of gas. I get that I won't get good plays of Extinction and Reproduction 2 with random, but that's still a painful result.
