This week has thankfully been rather non eventful, at least as of Friday morning. No new four figure expenditures, no traffic incidents, and so on. I appreciate it. Of course, in writing this Saturday morning, I do so after bending the latch release on the unit good enough that it needs to be replace. At least it wasn't enough so that I couldn't wedge myself out from the last move. I almost had a good Saturday. Almost.

I ordered a portable printer and it arrived on my first day off of work, which is good because getting it set up and usable proved to be a hassle. The actual installation of having it be recognized by the phone wasn't so difficult, but the app which the printer uses doesn't do much in the way of making clear which documents it can find to print. It's not like installing it suddenly has a Print button everywhere there is text on the phone. Thankfully, a bit of discussing it with my wife led to me installing Dropbox which quickly led to me installing a PDF reader, and in doing that with coordinating it with some cloud areas seems to have done the trick. As of this moment I've verified that I can print HTML and DOC attachments from emails, and I think that's probably the only file types which I'll have to worry about.

The parent company of a few of the rail yards which I regularly go to has an app which is meant for people to use to make it easier to submit information on units being brought into and out of these facilities. I already have two such apps for other rail lines, and they work well enough. Getting this third app to work is proving to be a major hassle. The reason is that, as I determined after making several hours of phone calls to several departments, the program is still not considered as ready for public use, despite it being visible on the App Store. Why they couldn't state as such on the App Store listing itself, or the login page, or have told me from the outset, I don't know, but at least they decided to tell me this eventually. After that all transpired, I was called later in the day from one of the e-business managers to direct my application of getting a login ID so that I could use the program, and was told to expect an email confirming such on Thursday. It didn't come. I look forward to making more calls.

Song sessions were pretty good this week, with some very surprising jumps here and there. My Wednesday also had a healthy run of strong plays. I am reaching the point of feeling concern for the BMS PC though. It is making noises which I don't recall being normal and I can't imagine things magically getting better as time goes on. The PC is nearly ten years old at this point, so I guess it might be time to see about doing the upgrade chain anew. The main issue in doing that is having my wife's PC run all the programs on Win10 which it does now (and it proved to not be the case when we last upgraded), and for me to be able to get the sim player to operate on another PC. It's abandonware, and I'm not sure how easily I can find posts and writings to help me get it operational. I pretty much have no way of getting any help on it if I were to need it.
