At least this time I've remembered to do the brunt of this work now rather than try to squeeze it in later.

Her car has returned. They repaired it for less than they had originally estimated, and in the process of doing so they had the car thoroughly cleaned out in preparation for its intended sale. The offer was made for me to pay the repair and retain ownership, and I accepted the offer. It seems like it will be some time before I find a good deal on a car.

After another attempt yesterday, I finally made it through the boss battle in Dragon Quest XI which has held me up since last time. It turns out that you can't trust the AI to handle everything after all, at least not in those kinds of fights. Too bad it makes the individual battles last an extremely long time, but I suppose that's the price of victory. She returned three levels under the party. I guess getting a few Metal Slimes down will do that.

Songs. There were some pretty good days within an otherwise lackluster week. It looks like I won't skip Solid Gold regardless of how often it comes up, but now with two increments in the span, I think I can safely refrain from playing it again for a while. I have no idea what happened with Honey - there's still a few records lingering from 2012 where the EX mode charts had a few more notes than what they usually do now. The reverse I haven't seen come up, much less for it to be so much more than the record I had set. I'd have to reopen the old text file to see if I could see any reason for the difference, but who cares. It also appears that I've never played the original Get On Beat until this week. I can't imagine why that had happened. Anyway, I decided against on going to the arcade again, partly due to weather and partly due to lack of interest in taking time to go there just to grind out DJ points or try my hand at passing failed charts. Perhaps the DQ situation loomed in my head as well. I expect to be back next week.
