Shopping is basically wrapped up. We're deciding that it's time for her PC to be upgraded, so everything has been slowly rolling in thanks to sales and the like. I'll be looking forward to building a PC again. It's been a while. I did get something for both of them, and it's definitely not something similar to things I've given before and something they'll do together. I hope they like it.

In anticipation of future time constraints with the holidays coming, a new IIDX coming, and the PC building coming, I took the time this weekend to get my yearly Enrolled Agent CPE credits earned. Thankfully, this is one more year where I can use prior material to help expedite the process. We'll see how things change for next year. I still have to do the ethics segment, but the content provider insists on making it a "webinar" presentation rather than a standard written test, so I have to see how I can find the time to get that done. I need a segment of two uninterrupted hours, and I wasn't ready when it was about to start the last time.

Finally I'm coming around to being motivated on doing work a bit more again. It's coming more towards the last minute but I think I've finally had enough time off and have become so dissatisfied in just sitting here and poking around on pages that I'm feeling more frustrated if I don't do more work. This is a better mentality than otherwise.

Songs. Last week's arcade session started out with me getting very low scores on easy songs, and this week's started the same way. After failing a 9, I had enough and decided to spend a few credits just playing easy stuff and fiddling around with all options, to the point where I was putting the timing offset and other adjustments to comical values, until I got recalibrated. I did eventually get there. The main difference is that I put the lift value back to 300 when it was at 200 before. That was difference enough to have the notes scroll at a velocity which my sight didn't register as blurry, and things improved from there. What's interesting is that this is a reversal of what I think I mentioned doing a few weeks or months ago where I wanted to have more of the field visible so that the notes did appear to scroll faster. Regardless, I got two new clears, so I was happy to have the day turn around to a positive direction there. Home sessions have been very flat for the most. I had a short work week with one day being reduced on its duration, and I took the opportunity to sleep longer that day, so I don't have a lack of stamina or energy to fall back on as an excuse there. New records were few and mostly of small increment, and the program crashed once per day on average. I hope getting the sim to work on my wife's old PC works out, because I'm growing quite tired of that kind of performance.
