I nearly forgot to post this today. That would have been a shame. I guess.

My mother did promise to prepare a special breakfast to observe my birthday, and she did deliver. A local grocery had a chocolate chip loaf of bread and she made french toast with it - a large quantity of it as well. I was very much stuffed by the time she was done with cooking.

The last time I played Alienation was over a year ago, a detail kept noted precisely to the second as that's the last time I participated in their weekly league ranking. Some friends purchased the game recently so I took up their invitation to join them. I was happy to see that it didn't take me long to jump back into the flow of play. We tried out the Dissidia demo before that and nobody was terribly impressed. I think I might have seen a glimmer of something interesting in it but it's all very chaotic and floaty and imprecise and I think the only way you get anywhere in it is by grinding your way into buying the characters and abilities you want. Regardless, they weren't too impressed with it and will probably not buy the game so that's one less thing I have to explain I don't have time to indulge in.

Songs. There was no arcade trip this week. I had my fill of driving in winter weather and figured that the upgrade to Cannon Ballers still hasn't come, so considering that with the dual days of arcading I did last week, I figured it was a good time to take a break from that. Home sessions were basically good, and a fair number of new songs came around. It seems like new IIDX batches come into the fold quicker than new BOF sets or the like.
