Well, if you've been watching the news, you might have heard about the record setting storms and tornadoes in my area of the world.

Well, I'm not dead! And no tornadoes have hit my stuff (that I know of).

The storms got worse like an hour after my last post yesterday. At around 3, something went wrong with the power grid and my county and most of the counties around it were without power. And it was off until like 2 or 3 am? I'm actually surprised we got it back. All the radios said they were not working on fixing it because of the wind. I guess maybe they switched the area over to another part of the national grid?

The internet and cable is still out. I'm at the school right now. I drove up here when the power came back to see if any areas that I have family in where hit.

It got pretty bad in some parts really close to me. I live about an hour from Tuscaloosa and it got nailed.

I'm pretty lucky. The storm that destroyed Tuscaloosa for whatever reason decided not to nail my town.

The death toll is like 78 right now. It will probably be a lot more come lunch tomorrow

e Provost has canceled the exam periods of 8 a.m. and noon on Thursday, April 28. All professors must give students the option of taking their current grade in the class or an incomplete. Professors will be responsible for communicating with their students their options as soon as possible. At this time, all campus offices will be open Thursday.

and yet there are two students behind me studying for an engineering final for tomorrow morning. And having had the teacher, I can completely 100% believe this man will make them take it. Even though these two only got power back 2 hours ago.

I found out about all these storms from work because they are setting off people's alarms like crazy (provided the house the system is in is still standing). It's gotta be crazy down there. I had several police departments in Alabama tell me they were not even taking the info on burglar or hold up alarms because they were dealing with such an influx of shit. Kind of a scary time I would think. Glad you're safe buttcheeks.
I did call one woman on Saturday about a couple burglar alarms going off at her place, she told me "It's ok, my house is on fire, the firemen are setting off the burglar alarms." Crazyness with these storms.
