There are going to be new gutters installed to the house. The length of the house is 40 feet and there are two simple lengths to cover, meaning no corners or other complex structural concerns and a minimal cost. The cost was $3700.00. I love debt.
If that isn't exciting enough for you, there's the latest D3 happenings which I can talk about.
One of the two co-workers who was more or less my original "team" logged in to play last night for the first time since late August. Since then I have established a list of 30/40 contacts, several of whom play daily as I do. He logs in, I join him in A1 because that's as far as he's advanced. I call upon one of my friends to join. Another quickjoins out of nowhere. They both start throwing free stuff at him left and right. Later, another good player shows up who has hundreds of millions of gold in supply and mains a 200K DPS barb, and he gives him even more free stuff and basically tells him exactly how to play the game properly in Inferno. It was amazing to watch happen. The guy was overwhelmed and it took upwards of an hour for him to sort through everything and figure out what to equip and use for a build. This is the kind of generosity and communal feeling which I was expecting from the game at the outset, as I said in a post here some time ago. However, I can't help but feel a bit annoyed about it. While all of the free things given to him were hardly God-tier items, it's still irksome to me how people can be welcomed in and assisted essentially by strangers, and not have done anything to really earn that kind of respect or treatment. We're the people who have evolved with and through old gear, we're the people who have played every day and hung onto scraps like that, we're the people who did the work, and he got to skip all of that and take in all the gifts regardless. I think what's at issue for me about this is that it was such a long absence in which he failed to play and then before resuming, sent me a text earlier in the day asking me if I could "look over his gear", with the obvious implication of expecting some handouts and help. Wouldn't it be somewhat expected that I would do that kind of thing in the first place? Is that something that needs to be asked for?
Oh well.

A lot of pain was expected and delivered. I like Abstract Matter more upon my second hearing.
