Today's retail work highlight is coming across an elderly woman just as she arrived in the parking lot who summarily flagged me down for assistance. She needed help loading ten boxes of kitty litter into the cart for return. She had just had her cat put down. It was sixteen years old. The vet's papers were still in her hands as she told me this through broken English and tears. The only thing I managed to say was "That means that the cat had a good life, and it was good for you to do that." I debated engaging in conversation about the passed pet but declined.

Actually, though, the real highlight from work today was the fact that there was a faulty sensor in the building's fire alarm, which caused a false alarm evacuation to occur three times in the day; two within an hour of each other and the third later in the afternoon. The third false alarm didn't even provoke the employees to leave nor for the managers to ask everyone to follow protocol and vacate. In all cases, customers argued with the cashier managers to have their orders rung up after being told to leave. Alarm be damned, nothing short of a visible explosion will make a customer leave if they're done shopping and ready to pay.

Form 1120 Schedule D was redone in short order last night. Schedule B remains intact. I think that barring some of the more complex ones like 5471, I might be able to make rapid progress in the 2012 revisions as long as I stay focused.

Songs. Session felt pretty good. Results weren't quite as kind as yesterday but very satisfactory regardless. I'm rather disappointed that I couldn't get clears on Voyager or Everyday Lovelyday, but scratch chords remain brutal in the sim program.
