So the time is upon where couples are rushing to get to the altar and sign a contract stating they will pool their resources together and if they happen to separate it may lead to financial ruin. Even knowing this, everyone wants to get married. It's disheartening. I'm even going to be in a TNLer's wedding party *cough cough* but he will do what he does. The alternative choice isn't the best bet.

Anyway, weddings are a blast. I meet great people, I get down, and I act a clown. Ever since entering my 20s weddings have been commonplace each year for me. I love attending most weddings because I get to drink for free and have a great time. I don't know if the men entering these marriages know the commitment they are signing up for.

It makes me sad to see so many people getting married so young. I'm going to be 26 and I already know three couples either my age or younger who are married. I believe I'll never understand the desire to commit so strongly to one person. I'm not saying relationships don't work. They do! For some, anyway. But why is getting married even necessary anymore? If you get divorced, no one should get any money except children. Both parents should be able to stand on their own two feet and make money for the family. And it should not be such a drawn-out and costly process.

Whatever, I don't think this has a point really. I'm just bored at work and ranting. Maybe soon I'll make an entry that people will actually enjoy.

I attended a few weddings for some friends last year and they were all sub 25. I was like WTF is going on here. I'm glad I waited til at least 28 but lets be honest I'm not gonna land somebody like my wife again so I better get that shit on lockdown.

I didn't want to spend the time reading your journal entry. So I'll just say I like the picture you posted and I think Puerto Rico is better off being a territory than a state.

you LIKE weddings? ugh. i guess the free alcohol is usually good, yeah. I can't stand them though....they are boring, pathetic, and embarrassing to watch. I'm not against marriage so much as I am against the wedding ceremony...

See that's where you're just not making it fun. I'm super social so I will talk to everyone there, I will dance, I will drink, and I will do silly shit. If I make other people have a good time then I'm having a good time. If you come up for Burg's wedding I'll show you what's what.

I hate weddings. Stuffy, uncomfortable, and a universal forced good will sitting on top of whatever family drama they have. It feels like partying with a bunch of tourists.

Hate dancing? Hate terrible music? Hate interacting with boring strangers? Hate being stuck at a round table for an entire extended meal with said boring strangers? Then you just might hate weddings!

But hey, free booze is alright. And I'm sure if any of my close friends get married I'd have a blast at their wedding because I would actually, ya know, have friends there instead of a formal crowd of relatives and strangers.

i really would love to make it to the wedding, but i'm going to europe in march - not sure if i'll have the funds to do both. But we'll see, sometimes strange things can happen. also, in january? isn't it going to be ridiculously cold for a wedding? i don't have a lot of knowledge of NY weather. i just know it snows and that scares me.

It snows, yes. And it's cold. I'd rather it in the cold than in the heat after what I went through this past weekend.
