Edit: Good discount on games, great discount on gaming accessories, gets hectic around Christmas, but other times of the year pretty laid back, and good chance at moving up...or so I've heard.
You get weekly bonuses, as I understand it. Your total sales determines how much you get.Quote:

Of course, this may be managers/sales leads only. The scrubs may get squat.
yes they do in certain sections of the store - i remember my brother working on a commision basis in addition to his regular pay
That is true, the salespeople, the people who actually are out there and make the sales, don't get jack shit. It's only the department supervisors who get it, based upon how many sales their underlings make. First several months I was there, I had a good sup, the last few months, though, we had a whip-cracking taskmaster who could eat shit and die as far as I was concerned. Another part of the reason I quit.Quote:

I really hate the double-standard Best Buy has with that shit, they should either make it that EVERYONE WORKING THERE gets commissions, or no one does at all. This preferential treatment for the higher ups really caused a lot of friction on the floor. Several people I know who got fired did so because they got in fights with their sups for how much they got on people to sell accessories.
You speak the truth. Thank you.Quote:

Get an office job, don't deal with Best Buy. Go to a temp agency or something. Sure, you won't get to work with games and music, but office jobs typically pay better anyway.
Yep. A friend I have that works there gets kickbacks from his supervisor, although that's a rare occurance. This happens in all parts of retail, it's a dog eat dog world.Quote:

That's why I like working at Staples. If you make a sale, YOU get the commission.
