I've never gotten it this way. o_O I usually cut across where that first cannon enplacement is on the castle wall, when its around the middle of the screen. hmm.


Anyways, I still remember how to get the gem head from the japanese village, but haven't played in a while. When I get home I'll load it up and give you instructions. then, after you pass my score, I can start playing this again. Its been a while. I'm sure to have forgotten many of the patterns, so it'll be fun.

Yes, after a certain point (it's only like 3 or 4 coins) the points you receive top out at 4000 points per coin. 2000 for the coin, the rest for the chain.

What is everybody averaging point wise per stage? It varies depending on the stage obviously but I can usually get at least 130- 140,000. I think the highest I ever got on one of the first few stages was about 165,000 points.

Does anyone know how to initialize the invicibility option in the debug menu? I'm trying to get a firmer understanding of how ranking works during the loop, you see.

How do you access the debug menu again? I thought it was just holding start while booting up, but that doesn't seem to work in the japanese version.

Yeah, that's what you need to do alright. Maybe the NA release is the only one that features the debug menu.

file to combine magically all the PNG files into a ZIP. The
movie is inside that.

He will delete this movie in a few days, if you want it,

chicken on the boss.

Hot damn. I switched to playing this game in Arcade mode (I say, I say, I say TATE, my man) shortly after achieving my previously posted high. And in all that time, I had not once made it back to 1-6. Rarely even close. Well, I'm back in the saddle again.

Woo! Had a solid run against the 1-5 boss after spending all day practicing the stage. Then it was adrenaline, luck and bombs to pick up the extend and reach the 1-6 boss' second form. One wall of bullets later, it was all over, but a new high achieved in the meantime.

I hate to sound like Mode redux, but in case it wasn't already clear: if you aren't playing this game rotated, you owe it to yourself and to the shooter gods to find a solution. I'm playing on a dinky 13" TV in an incovenient spot in order to get the TATE love, and I can't go back.
