Azure Dreams
How does this game compare to say, oh, Thousand Arms or Harvest Moon? Is the dating part alone good enough to justify a purchase? TA was a blast for me, whereas HM was so-so.
And this is unrelated, but someone a while back recommended Tales of Destiny 2 because I was looking for a light-hearted anime-style RPG. (I held off from getting it since I was busy with TA and Dual Hearts.) Anyway, is that one good, too?

I loved Azure Dreams! The dating bit is minimal, so don't buy if you're looking for a dating sim.
It's really just a dungeon romp, but uniquely done, with spectacularly fun bells and whistles attached. :D

Great, great, great game. I love it. You could play it forever. I loved Thousand Arms, but you really can't compare the two games. Both are totally different. I think it compares a bit more with Harvest Moon, but, as Capt. Veggie said, it's a dungeon romp as well. While you're not in the dungeon, you can date girls, take a bath, go to the racetrack, act in a play, fix up and add on to your house and even the town itself. It's very engrossing and the character artwork is amazingly beautiful. I'd call this a must have.

Hmm... I picked this up a while back. It's on my shelf still in the shrinkwrap. Maybe I should bust it open and give it a go.

It looked really repetitive from what I saw but Animal Crossing fans will like how you can customize your house.

I was really upset they took out the option to date your archnemesis(male) in the american version. But the fact that you're allowed to have multiple women waiting in your house to make out with you every morning with your mother watching does bring about some interesting moral questions. Video games turn people into killers!?! I think not, video games turn people into playas.

It's a decent roguelike, and the town-building is fun and addicting. However, the prerendered sprites can get ugly, and the translation is somewhat...off. It's good fun, though, and a nice break from the mainstream.

Azure Dreams is a PS graphical Nethack with more emphasis on pet building and has a touch of "date sim" elements in the main town at the base of the tower. ... which I guess actually makes it a bit more like Moria than Nethack.
Decent game, and is thankfully NOTHING like 1000 Arms.

It's a pokemon random dungeon game (complete with losing your levels every time you leave), with one dungeon and one town (that you build up). If that's your idea of a good time, then go right ahead.
