Well, today Nevada is voting on whether or not to legalize the possesion of 3 ounces of marijuana. How do you guys feel about this? I think it's a good idea, and, if done right, may actually cut down on the marijuana use. (All though people would be going to Nevada just to smoke)

I don't live in Nevada, so my opinion doesn't matter. But hey, never stopped me before!
Good for Nevada, I firmly believe this'll have a positive outcome. Hopefully this will influence other states to do the same.
Although Astral is right concerning "federal law."
noramlly, those who care or not about drug legalization are either those who do it, or are adamantly opposed to it. Or Libertarian. =p

so when someone says it's a good thing and will lead to less use, I highly doubt it. Then again, I don't think an explosion in use would result either.
Not only does this pass for marijuana to be legal in Nevada, but another referendum in 2004 needs to pass as well. So dont start planning your road trips just yet. :)
Well, that depends, like I said, if done right. Initially, it would probably lead to a big explosion of use, but after taxing it like insane, as done to cigarettes in NY, it might possibly lead to less because people can't afford it.Quote:

Nevada is an evil, evil place.
Legalizing weed would help fight organized crime, and I doubt anyone would smoke then that doesn't smoke now. The only increase in use would be among those who already smoke, because of the improved supply chain. I don't think anyone in Nevada is telling their friends "Dude, I'd love to take a toke on that joint, but I just can't do it, it's against the law!"
