After the translation patch was released I played maybe five or six hours into it. I might of played it more, but I really don't remember since it's been ages.
Pretty good.Quote:

I'm not sure if the music is remixed/redone or if it's original music.

No, but what was so bad about it?Quote:

It used this weird leveling system where all your stats leveled independently, and in order to gain HP you had to let yourself get hit or attack your own characters. Alot of it came down to who was "lucky" enough to get hit, and putting chatacters in the back row would make them drastically underleveled. Because of needing to take damage to level, you had to do all your leveling by wandering around near towns and going in to heal every 5 minutes. They gained proficiency with different weapons independantly making it a chore to sqitch weapon types, and the whole game was paced so that you had to deal with this retarded leveling crap for hours on end just to get by. It was unplayable.Quote:

There is a slight chance that the leveling was fixed as well and not just fancy graphics and sound upgrades... I'm interested now, I must check these out later :)
I like the idea of this system. I've only played a couple of hours into it though, so I guess I've yet to see it in it's entirety.Quote:

It plays out really bad in practice, becasuse it isn't balanced. It boils down to wanderign around the town in a circle and trying to get the crap beat out of you. It's not fun and it takes forever.Quote:

And when are we gnna get a remake of FF3? You know... the 8-bit FF that was actually good.
I was hoping those rumors of FFIII on GBA that originated in Japanese magazines (?) would have panned out, but it looks doubtful since Square themselves hasn't said a word about it. Which is a shame considering the Wonderswan version was canned as well.Quote:

That makes no sense to me. FF3 was the only one of those games I'd consider worth playing still.
The only 8(tg 16 not included) bit traditional RPG that is slightly playable is DQ 4.
