You realize, of course, that you just described every error message in Windows and MS Office?Quote:

Ha! Too true.
By the way, JM, if you want to test your connection:

Hey JM, great playing with you last night. I had a ton of fun. Too bad it crapped out on us when Mode 7 was about to get in. I will look for you again. You are a very sneaky bastard in Mech Assault and I mean that as a major compliment.
Bah, this whole setup sucks.Quote:

Yeah, I drop out of whatever game I'm in when I get an invite, but always the error message... On the bright side, I think from your invite I simply got the "Game no longer available" message without the "Bad Connection" one. Moving up. :)Quote:
It would probably mean dropping out of whatever game you were playing at the time, but once we got together it gets a lot easier to stay together.
I swear, if there was ever a need for the All-Seeing Eye, Xbox Live is it. Someone needs to code a console version and have Microsoft implement it.
Rogers cable = satan.Quote:

Edit: Make that shaw. God knows why I wrote rogers.
Bump. (Possible spoilers if you care about mission objectives or such)
Ok. I finally got to, and got past "A Wolf in..." and the mission after it. Hints for anyone else stuck on the "Wolf" mission:
(1) You don't HAVE to stand next to the comm station after the count down starts. Go ahead and move towards the generator.
(2) After you kill the generator, run. Run fast. Do not stop, do not collect $200, do not pass go. Just run. If you can tag the helicopters as you run, great. There are health items all over the place as you run. (Any transport truck with a green cover contains health).
(3) Jump over the first ice bridge, and stay away from the water. (You can get stuck there). Only two medium mechs will follow, and you should be able to kill them (barely).
(4) Continually use your target jamming defensive capability (pressing in on the right thumb analog stick). This keeps the tanks, and to an extent, the mechs from targeting you very well. And you need all the help you can get.
(5) As for the Atlas at the end, use your head. As long as you have at least 3/4s of your health, you'll be fine. But don't fight him. :) Like I said, use your head.
The next mission: I suggest against the Summoner. You need a mech with either null sig (like the Mad Cat) or target jamming to last long enough. I made it through with a Thor on my 3rd try. My biggest hint here: You have enough time to fight most of the WOB Mechs you encounter. Don't let the time limit freak you too much. Again, plenty of health in this mission (on Normal difficulty, at least), and lots of weapon power ups.
The next mission is stumping me though. I'd just like to say that while Elementals are fast, they are no match for a Mech on their own. =/
Is no one else playing the single player mode?
Ok. Got through Size Matters. The second half is fun. :) :) :)
"Pay Back", here I come...
I played this online tonight for about 4.5 hours...I'm getting pretty damn good with the Uziel. :D I think it's a great balance between the Cougar and the Mad Cat. It has the ability to throw some lvl 3 PPC's for some serious damage, while being able to make good use of jump jets and run around quickly. If I have a halfway decent team, I'm averaging about 15-5 per game, hehe.
What are you guys using for mechs? Also, I'm going to hit the single player mode after Splinter Cell (prolly about 2 weeks from now unless I can get some serious time in gaming this holiday weekend).
Btw, I could've sworn I saw "SleeveBoy" on tonight....from this forum or was I just playing against someone random?
Wow, this game is a lot of fun. I've sent most of you a friend thingy, so far only Mode and Doug have accepted, though I've seen none of you online, so lonely :( Anyway, I had a really interesting experience. I could swear I was playing with Gabe from Penny-Arcade, I was playing with a guy that sounded exactly like him, and he was easily the most knowledgable person (gaming wise) I've run across on Live, not to mention he spat out his fare share of four letter words, much like Gabe.
Anyway, as for the actual game, I'm jumping between a few mechs myself, I mostly play with either the Puma, MadCat or Atlas. I was doing really good with Puma in a game earlier today, I was actually taking two Atlases and a MadCat all by myself (I had two team mates, but they seemed content to shoot at anyone that came near them, myself included, so I tried to stay away from them :p). That felt really good, running circles around 3 huge mechs at once. Mind you, they weren't exactly that great, but being complimented by an entire opposing force just puts you in a good mood I guess :)
Well tonight I think I'm going to try pulling an all-nighter, so hopefully I see some of you guys on later today (I'll probably be playing all day). Good fight, good night.
I just stopped playing the "Size Matters" level. The single player mode is kick ass! I highly recommend it to everyone playing this game.
