Do you plan on having children?

This is a question that seems to come up alot whenever I'm with my friends, so I thought I'd post it up here. I honestly don't plan on having kids anytime soon, if at all. The reason I don't plan on it basically comes down to: I don't really like kids to begin with. Shocking, seeing as how everyone else does. I'm good with kids, but that's because at the end of the day I can just go home, whereas the parents have to live with the little monsters. I've always looked at having kids as something you do when you are content knowing that you've done everything you wanted to with your life. That point probably won't come for me anytime soon. The funny part about me not wanting kids is that when I say that, people get genuinely furious, and for the life of me I don't know why. What about you?

Ugh. I want to be a father more than anything. However, I am not the marrying type, and am not too keen on being a single parent.

I hope to have two sons (raising girls is too difficult- its too easy to mess up) who I will raise to be everything that I am trying to be. They will begin learning martial arts as soon as they are able to walk. They will be raised to be REAL MEN- not the pansys that society wants us to raise our boys to be.

Can't wait...


FUN FACT:

I have actually donated sperm to a bank in Maryland- passing their screening tests is a real challenge. I will not elaborate any further on this :D

lordMRW, I know how you feel. I actually ended a 2 year relationship with a girl who couldn't come to grips with how I dislike children and have no intention of having any. Now, later in my life, I admit that my perspective may change...but, right now, it seems unrealistic for me to answer that question, or even consider it (seeing as how I'm in college, and don't even have the resources to support a child if one came along). -and yes, people do take personal offense if they learn you don't plan on having children, as if you're dooming the human race, or...I don't even know. People are messed up.

...furthermore, I'm so great, that I'm sure my children would only be a huge disappointment to me... :p

Yeah, definitely. I can't wait to have a few kids, the idea really appeals to me. The whole package, actually, marriage, kids.

I'm really worried about the kids dying on me, I can't, the pain of that is unimaginably large.

I never really had a father - and I think that makes me more interested in being one, wanting to correct some wrongs or something. Anyone else there in this thread (or about to respond) not really have a father? I wonder how it effects our willingness/desire to have children.
