I could have sworn that in the booklet to Prime, it mentions that Samus was raised to be a warrior by the Chozo. This would explain her suit...but not how they met.

Hmmm...I haven't beaten the game yet, but I couldn't resist. Besides, spoilers never much bothered me.

My knowledge is not as complete as your own might be, so if you wouldn't mind filling in my holes, or calling my attention to incorrectness, I'd be much obliged.

We know that the Space Pirates named Metroid Prime. What we don't know is why. Why did they call it the "one who came before?" It stands to reason that they, for some reason, believed it to be the patriarch of the Metroid race.

We also know that the Chozo make claims, in diaries and log books, that they created the Metroid race. However, nowhere among their documents do they make mention of an original, nor do they attribute their creation to the tech-copying of another race, presumably Metroid Prime.

So, how does this wash? The Space Pirates must have been aware of the Chozo documents, and the claims that the Chozo made. In light of this information, they still called this sealed up thing "Prime." Why? What about it drove them to disavow the claims of the Chozo and rename this beast as the historic origin of the Metroid race?

I don't know yet...I haven't beaten the game. :p

Can you guys come up with anything?

We do? I've never seen such a reference. And don't you dare say Fusion.

No...I picked up on this while reading the thread. So many people seemed convinced that the Chozo created the Metroids...so I figured they had good reason to believe this...which led me to believe that the Chozo had it documented.

If, however, they never documented it, then my question has been answered. They never created the Metroids, and Prime is the progenetor (if that's even a word :p ).

The Pirates never indicate Prime is the originator of all Metroids. Their reason for naming it such is much lamer, if I remember right from the logs. And if it IS considered the source of all Metroids (in addition to all Phazon and a meteor), that is so beyond lame as to shake my faith in humanity :P

Anyhow, I got a response from one of the devs about some of the more egregious story holes, I'll see what he says.

Well if you guys get that GC Movie Disc that has Samus on the cover at say a local Target or EB they have a history of all the Metroids and thier linking storylines.

I was lead to believe that Metroid Prime was a Metroid fused with Phazon, and that Metroid Prime is like a Metroid Space Pirate. Because it has the same type of Suit and such. And when you brake that off you fight the real Metroid Prime. Which leads me to believe that the Space Pirates used/created Metroid Prime with Phazon in order to make even larger quantites of Phazon. I may be wrong I have not read all the Log Entrys and such.

Anyone else think that Final Metroid Prime (non-spider) looks a lot like a Krazoa Spirit from Starfox Adventures?! I think they look a lot a like.

ok so ive been digging through all the official metroid Literature i have

and heres what ive discovered the Metroids are NOT a natural life form they were created

in the instruction booklet for Super Metroid they talk about the Metroids being created for peace probably

its not till fusion that its said that they are created by the Chozo

so it was stated before hand that yes the Metroids are an artificial life form just seems to be unclear on who created them to me



and yeah ive gotten farther and read the instructions and things and it says the chozo did raise Samus it seems and it tells of how they found her

it doesnt say on what planet or anything though

If the Super Metroid manual says that the Metroids were created artificially, I'll buy that the Chozo are responsible. But all that does is make things more confusing.

well it seems everyone want to use the metroids as some source of energy

so maybe the chozo created them to 1 keep the X in line and then get energy from them after they absorbed the X

or something like that

I refuse to recognize the X as a part of the main Metroid story arc. I doubt we'll ever hear about them again.

one thing im wondering is, for the next sequel will she still have the Fusion suit i mean it seems to be a permanant change
