i actually had some hopes for this even though i wasnt into III (i liked the older ones) but this stank too much of quick cash run rush job

Games I had really high hopes for - Rygar, Shinobi, Suikoden III. Suikdoen III stills seems quite good (I've only played the demo), but I was expecting one for the ages after II. Rygar and Shinobi were also good, but not legendary. Same thing with Sunshine- it was good, but I just couldn't get into it. Fortunately, this has been a year free of any massive letdowns.
Shinobi: Much better after level 2, but that camera...blah
Eternal Darkness: Good for one time, and a chore for the next two. Have a blast and never pick it up again.
Super Monkey Ball 2: Why did they do this?! It's such a pale shadow to it's precursor, and as a game on its own, is only good for the minigames. Uncool.
Wow, looking back, I really haven't played any games this year that I was looking foward to, that were a soul crushing dissapointment. But if I really had to pick one, I would have to go with Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2, they had the chance to make something great, but instead decided to churn out a mediocre crap fest.
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance - Underwhelming, easy, seemingly uninspired third redux of the SotN formula. I had high hopes for this title, and it ended up being merely OK. Nice visuals, though.
Animal Crossing - Like NeoZeedeater said. I really liked the concept of the game, but after playing it for the second week, it really began to feel like a time-consuming chore. I only play it now whenever animal-crossing.com doles out another NES game.
Dead to Rights - Looks like crap, plays well sometimes but everything (controls) is too unresponsive and forced minigames are shit. Story is worthless.
Eternal Darkness - what with all the hoopla about this game I decided to give it the honest go-around. Promises that it was better then RE were shallow and at the end of the day - Untrue. The game is JUST AS BAD as all other RE's. Boo to that.

Honestly. Every game I played (that I can remember) either became more than I expected or lived up to what I expected (be it good or bad). At least there weren't any sheep-in-wolf's-clothing games that I picked up, thank the Gods.Quote:
