Racing games have had a long history of awesome soundtracks.
My favorite is from F-Zero X, which also happens to be my favorite racing game. It's like a pseudo-metal remix of the original game's soundtrack. F-Zero's soundtrack was amazingly dreamlike and suited the game's hazy atmosphere perfectly.
My second choice is Out Run.

F-Zero, original. Later F-Zero music didn't quite compare.

Tied for first are Sonic R (Saturn) and Daytona USA (arcade and original Saturn versions).

I'm a fan of Wipeout music. It's just not my first choice.
The only Wipeout I currently own is the first game but I love how I can play it in a CD player. Can I do this with the sequels or do they not use redbook audio?
I love the music in Daytona USA, Outrun, and F-Zero.
