How does Harvest Moon compare to Animal Crossing? Are they similar in concept? A friend of mine said they were (he has the PS2 version) but I always thought HM was more of a farming simulation.

I am not sure if I am interested in AC or not. On the one hand, I really like the general concept.. but on the other hand I hear comments like Neozeed's about the execution and it makes me wonder. I think I still like the concept so I guess I hope this becomes a sort of genre. Maybe something will strike me then.
Also, I'd like to second Melf's comments and hear more about Harvest Moon.
Well, it's similar in some concepts, like interacting with others and daily routines, but it's not THAT similar.Quote:

I thought it was an excellent game. However, due to my short attention span, and the TONS of awesome games that were released in the last few months, I stopped playing.
As soon as I get a Gameshark, I'll unlock the NES games, and I'll play those for awhile. When I get tired of those, THEN I'll trade the game in. Maybe.
It's almost the same game, except with more of an emphasis on interaction with your neighbors. It has a similar feel in that you're doing a bunch of work and errands in a small town.Quote:

Yep. This game gets old by the third day. The attempt at a communication game is nice, but there really is no "game" here. It's a bunch of tedious fetch quests that get you nowhere and waste your time.Quote:
