this games is garbage...even a 7.5 from ign is too high...the levels are way to drawn out for an arcade feel...WAY too much time is spend in human form...and what is with the attempt at an in depth storyline? man i thought they would have given that up after revenge of shinobi gba's pitiful attempt...
My point was actually the fact that many people essentially said "there is no chance in hell of this game being any good" :o, when a better thing would have been to say "it doesn't look promising so far" or something similar to that.Quote:

I really don't like what the game looks like from the movies at IGN. It looks like a European designed game, largely from the way the enemies are drawn and move. Still, it looks much better than I thought it would.

I know you want to love it with all of your being because it has some sort of tenous connection to SEGA, but SEGA didn't make the game. THQ didn't make the game either. It was made by 3d6 games. Go check out their website, and the toher games they've made (Madden for GBC!) and you'll see why everyone was saying the game was going to be shit.
Also, don't jump on people for bashing a game that hasn't come out yet and then turn around and praise a game that you haven't played yet.

Actually, I didn't really care one way or the other because I am not an Altered Beast fan and I never have been. Whether it was considered lousy or a wonderful groundbreaking masterpiece - I was never planning on buying it.Quote:

I just pointed this out because people have been bashing an unfinished game for months and months saying it was so bad - and I kept saying that it was not even complete yet and it might turn out "ok" even though it didn't look too good in the first screens. Based on this review it seems to me that the game is at least an "ok" game.
It was unfair and this end result shows why.
I am well aware of who developed it and that Dimps made Sonic and that ^Carat House^ made Puyo Pop and Realism made Super Monkey Ball Jr and so on. THQ is publishing the games and working with Sega to find developers for these projects. So far it seems like they've done a pretty good job with the quality control and overseeing these projects. Out of all Sega's GBA games there have only been 2 so-so games (this one and Shinobi).Quote:

I don't agree. People should not bash games that have not come out yet. I think it's safe to say that if you read some reviews of a game you can at least tell if it is half-decent.. and that's all I am reporting. I am not saying or pretending that I played it. I am reporting that other people said the game was pretty good. It's sort of like how I don't think I'd be going out on a limb saying Metroid Prime was a good game even though I have not played it myself - because I have heard such good things..Quote:

I think you can judge a game to a certain degree before playing it. It was pretty obvious to me after watching videos of GBA Revenge of Shinobi that the game looked like crap. I can't say for sure that it's crap since I haven't played it yet but the odds are vastly against it being any good based on viewing it.
