I find all the price bashing for $5/mth to be hilarious.
People pay $200 (or $300) for an Xbox, $50 for a year of Live, $50 for a game, $40/mth for broadband access and then complain when you pay $5/mth to play (esp. when the Japanese version comes FREE with the Live kit). I don't think most people realize how little the initial Live fee of $50 covers.
I think these people are going to be seriously given a brutal reality check when developers start actually start charging for downloadable content.

I think pay content will just be like expansions for PC games. If people buy enough of those for developers to turn a profit then Xbox Live content shouldn't have a problem.Quote:

That's just it. Enough people have to be willing to buy the exapnsions and downloads. If not, then the developers won't be able to charge...which could mean less incentive for them to include downloadable content...which would be bad for us.
I'm willing to pay a few bucks for new levels and stuff, it's the monthly fees I don't like. It costs enough to get the darn Xbox to play online. Monthly charges on top of it are not very inviting.
