I get this for quite a few sites that I am normally able to visit. This has been happening for about 3 days now. I have absolutely no idea what the hell is prompting this inability to locate these sites.. Any ideas on what the hell might be wrong?Quote:

First, check for virii and spyware.
Spyware: www.lavasoft.de , download Ad Aware.
Virii: http://www.grisoft.com/ , download AVG Anti-Virus.
Go into IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Temporary Net Files -> Settings and set Check for newer versions of stored pages to Every visit to the page. Click ok, then click Delete Files to clear out your cache.
Are you behind a router? Check the DNS settings you're getting against the DNS servers run by your provider. Try another ISP's DNS servers.

Anyways, I've got the adaware already, I'll check for viruses. Yes, I'm behind a router, but I've never had this problem before with it. I recently upgraded the firmware on it, and I think it started from there. I have no idea what you mean by checking my settings against the isp's servers, though. I appreciate the help, too.

To check your DNS settings, go to your net provider's support pages and look for a page with their DNS server listings. You'll be able to input those directly into your computer's network config, instead of relying on the router to pass them to you.
It could be that the router isn't passing the packets through correctly. That might be an effect of the new firmware.

Hmm, do you think changing my browser would just get rid of this problem so I don't have to deal with it? I won't mind not using IE, anyways..
