I find rumours cool. They give us all something to talk about on forums like this one and bag each other out for thier crappy predictions of what they thought would come out true. :D Who cares if they turn out false, really? It's not like you lose all respect in real life with the people you give a shit about. Geezus.
People will want to discuss rumours (like placing bets) whether or not they are going to let it let them down or not. The game industry is unpredictable imo. I was happy when the rare thing turned out true (remember the christmas tree with the xbox, GC and ps2 underneath it on ign ages ago which nobody gave a thought too?) because it opened new doors for other parties to try out development on nintendo classics, so I was ready to accept any new updates due to hope for it really happening.
As sick as I am about bogus rumours (probably to generate traffic to their sites) the ones that turn out true are worth discussing and most people don't know, so they'd want confirmation. (nintendo are very secretive)
You've also got to remember that in the past, false rumours have brought fans' ideas into reality. Games like Pocket Fighters were started out when somebody cut and pasted a chara head in photoshop into a street fighter 2 character and spread false rumours about capcom making a new sf kids game. Then Pocket fighters was made. And what about SNK vs Capcom? EGM's Shen long? How do you know the companies aren't listening in and inspired by them?
IMO nintendo DO need some kind of megaton announcment to generate some excitement for cube if they don't already, as they'll need some things (other the zelda) to wow people to the machine for a long period of time. If all the nintendo fans are awaiting something big, nintendo could make use of all the hype and deliver something special to get attention rather than the usual thing of "not denying nor confirming anything so we can use it to stall people's decisions" response.
These days it's not enough to use the logic that:
-"if they don't confirm or deny it then it must be true"
is enough. or
-"if they don't confirm or deny it then it must be false"
And then there are times where even IF they confirm something like "such and such is exclusive to such and such platform is will never appear on other systems", and they are telling the truth according to thier real intent at the time they said it, who's to say they won't do a 180 to try to gain some more $ and use the demand for such and such thing to a different platform at some later date? (doa anyone?) Things change so quickly.
False, Inaccureate, Untrue, DISCONTINUE!
BS in other words.

Ha.. sorry for one liners.. so..um stuff and things.. and megatons.. ands stuff..
Where the FUCK did all these new people come from?!
Did some other message board crash or something?
Nintendo = Fun.
I don't think anyone should worry.
I am currently immagining Link beating the bejezes out of Cloud's pathetic weakling ass.
Do you think they could predict that they're going to win this lawsuit 3 or so months ago?It would be a huge failiure for them if they lost the case and their Megaton announcement never materiliased.:bang:
Triforce was merely announced too early... rather than waiting until the games were halfway done, they announced them as they were just beginning development. And it hasn't even been a year since that announcement was made, fer chrissakes.
Relax, people. Believe it or not, games take a long time to make. I'm sure that F-Zero and StarFox will be here pretty soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more games in development for Triforce that just haven't been announced.
