Has anyone here played this game? From what I've heard its a third person remake of Maken X . Im a pretty big fan of the series(at least it seems to be part of a series:bang: ) and Im comtemplating whether I should import this or not. Is it different enough from the DC game to warrant a purchase?
Third-person? But that takes out part of the cool factor! Bastards...
That said, Maken X was pretty damn sweet and I'm up for some more. Is this import PS2 or what?
It's supposed to be very similar to the DC one. The perspective might be the only difference. I never liked the DC one much myself.

As a fan of the original I'm also curious about maken shao.
My sources tell me Maken Shao sucks pretty hardcore. Apparently the framerate is pretty poor, unlike its 60-fps cousin on the DC.
I think Sidez has played it.
Is there new stuff aside from the 3rd person view? Like more jackable characters or ex attacks.
Maken X kicked ass, although some people who suck may tell you otherwise. Here's some info on Shao from the GIA:
The screenshots show off the game's new third-person perspective, as well as the revamped lighting and motion blur effects.
In addition to the upgraded visuals, Maken Shao will also feature a modified version of the "brainjacking" system found in Maken X. Dubbed the Image Flare System, the system will open up new skills for the brainjacked characters depending on how many images the player has collected from defeated enemies
The game is also in Dolby surround. I haven't played it, but if it isn't as good as the DC version, well, that's just sad.
If you take away the awesome graphics and art, Maken X is one of the dullest first-person games out there.
I enjoyed the combat, but mainly loved it for the branching storyline and brainjacking. I had so much fun running around slaughtering off all the good guys, becoming insanely powerful, and then telling all the bad guys to screw off as well. :DThat's just pathetic.Quote:
