The gods have forsaken Lhadatt.

It takes place mostly in the 1st age and has some characters you're familiar with. Eldron, Sauron and a host of elves (Noldor elves) make for the meat of the story. There is tretchery, there is betrayal, and there is above all the pursuit of power (by Sauron.. wonder if he gets it..) to change what they see as ill. The prime mover and evil force in the story as it has been pieced together is Morgoth... the bitch that stole the sacred light from the trees :/ The Silmaris or something. It's good... you should read it.

Some guy reading the book for me just feels like it would do nothing but annoy me. Unless he had a voice that was just perfect for the story or something.

Well Omnicloud, it's doubtful that I'll be listening to it the entire time... The damn thing is thirteen discs long, after all. I just though it would be nice to have for any parts I may have difficulty interpreting. It's sometimes nice to have an outside voice reading you something you don't understand. Besides, I'm really starting to enjoy everything Tolkien, and I'm pretty much buying everything I can get my hands on.

Yah, you have a point about not interpreting a part of the story or something. I'll stick with the standard text though.

If you are serious about getting all the books and you want a good deal, you should join the Science Ficiton Book Club. They have (last time I checked) all the books on hard back and at a good price. Full Binding of LOTR 17.99 , the Sirblahblah 12.88. , ect. So far its the cheapest way I know to get the hardbacks.

Oh yeah, its been such a long time that i almost forgot one importent thing. When you sign up you can pic 5 books to get for a buck, plus shipping. If you wanted you could get all of the books for a buck.

I don't know if you want to do that though, you have to buy 4 books in the next 2 years.

The thing I tend to not like about the Sci-fi book club is the fact that the hardbound editions are for some reason smaller than normal. What's up with that?
