I just have a problem with having to use a lot of pressure to keep any part of the D-pad depressed for a given period of time. This isn't bad for shooters with the ship speed on high (tap-tap gameplay), but for RPGs and adventure games, it SUCKS.Quote:

I bought what looks like an original-model PC-Engine joystick to try and remedy the pad problem, but it's useless for shmups since the damn stick can't seem to do diagonals very well at all, either because it's old and rusty (the stick's springs squeak when I move it) or because it just wasn't designed very well. Not to mention that I have virtually no experience using joysticks of any kind, so even easy games were frustrating experiences. Waste of $15.
Agreed! I use controller extension cords for all my systems, anyway, so I was prepared to plop down an extra fee. Get this... when you order a new Turbo Duo from TZD.com, they don't have any original Duo pads left, so they hack a standard TurboPad with a Duo-compatible cord (which looks like a Mac perhiphrial cord of some sort). Thing is, this cord is like, 7 feet long. My Duo is far away from where I sit to play, and this hacked cord did the job fine. I'm still glad I bought an extension since I also have a real Duo Pad and the above-mentioned PCE stick.Quote:
The only truly bad aspect of the controller is the ultra-short (to the point of ridiculousness) cord.
Are the pads on the Japanese controllers any better? That white Duo RX 6-button pad looks sexy as hell. Too bad they're next-to-impossible to find.
