I'm sure some of you have heard of it..... Sega's lost plattformer, Pulseman.
This game had the potential to be every bit as good as Sonic, with it's charming character, awesome music, and innovative play mechanics.
Unfortunately, the games designers seemed to have gone complacent after designing all of these great concepts. The level design was as drab as hell<think Donkey Kong Country>. Everything was so flat, pallid, and dull that it dragged it down from being the genny's premiere plattformer.
Before anyone mentions it, yes I know that there were 'pulse puzzles'. And those also fell short of their potential. There was no thought required whatsoever....
Still, Pulseman is a great game and any if you are a 2D platt whore you definetely check it out. The amazing play mechanics somehow salvage this game and place it right behind the Sonics, RKA's, Castle of Illusion and Tiny Toons games as one of the best genesis plattformers.
Sadly, SOA never brought this game over. Was it becuase of the threat that was DKC? Or were they just thinking out of their behinds?:(
