Vampire the Masquerade

Has anyone played this game? I'm interested in picking it up. As far as I can remember it's a Diabloish game based in the VTM world. And it was a really huge hit sales wise (I might be confusing it with something else).

I tried to get the demo to work on my machine back when it came out but for some reason it didn't work.

It wasn't a huge hit sales-wise as far as I can tell. Reviews said it was very disappointing. I think it's closer to a traditional PC RPG than Diablo.

My girlfriend has it and loves it.
I don't really know myself, though.

I was following this game for awhile, back when it was still only lines of code, and I thought it'd be great. I was anticipating, and anticipating, and anticipating...and anticipating some more, and then BAM! it finally comes out, but not without atrocious reviews to go along with it. Everyone said it was buggy as hell and played like shit, so I didn't even bother.

In other words, I haven't heard good things, but if you wanna give it a shot, be my guest.

Everything I've heard about this game from WW and non-WW fans alike tells me it was a massive disappointment.

slow and boring IMO...i mostly hated how stupid your teammate AI was...you would walk around a trap with you main character, and your computer teammates would walk right through it and take a shit-ton of damage...arggg...

I bought it months ago for $10 after years of putting it off. Its decent; that's the only thing that comes to mind when I think about it. The main problems were the above mentioned Team AI, and the camera control. Instead of a camera that follows you, you have to manually move your mouse pointer to the corners of the screen to rotate it. Very, very stupid.

I never played the videogame version but the pen and paper tabletop RPG original sucks ass hardcore. Goth weenie stuff all the way.
