Favourite Toaplan game?

Mine was Snow Bros, the single screen plattformer for the arcades/ genesis/Nes.I never thought too highly of their shooters, outside of Twin Cobra.

OutZone is their best game, bar none.

I was playing Pipi & Bibi's the other day and was suprised to see it was a hentai game. Now I see why the gameplay was so derivative (even for a Toaplan game).

Batsugun was fun.

Out Zone is my favorite so far but I haven't played Truxton 2 or Fixeight.

I haven't had the opportunity to play many of their shooters. I did enjoy Tatsujin (Truxton) for PCE, even though it was ungodly hard.

(However, I actually managed to beat it by abusing the Avenue Pad 6's cheesy slo-mo feature. :P)

Damn, what a tough question. It would have to be either Truxton II or Twin Cobra.

Zero Wing isn't horrid... as with Hellfire, it's just not Toaplan's best. Horizontal games clearly aren't their forte.

I've only played Kyukyoku Tiger (PCE), Daisenpu (PCE), and Batsugun (jap SS), but out of those I really like the first two. I can't wait to get Toaplan Shooting Battle Vol.1 (PSone) to play them properly. Batsugun is great too, looking forward to competing for score on that one.

Truxton 2, easily. My local arcade had it and I'd play it on lunch break until it got to the point that I'd play for 20 minutes and have under 10 (what with waiting in line and all) to eat.
