I beat it :D a little over 40 hours and a D-ratio of 1/512... I had to use a lot of the dragon power at the end, I just made it barely :sweat:
That has to be the quickest I beaten a game lately, now on to something else ;)
Does anyone know how deep the dungeon in the colony is, I only went to about 10 floors down which I imagine isn't very close to the bottom... I'm curious if anyone got to the bottom floor?
Note- Yeah, you might miss a lot if you haven't played the rest of the BoF series, but BoF I-III have aged a lot. You can still play it without knowledge of the rest of the series though. I think there are small things thrown in for fans, but I'm not even sure if they're trying to tie in with the rest or not.
XD WOOO! I get to be added to the "Cool People Who Have Beaten the Game" list. :3 But I finished at 49 hours, so I guess I'm the slow one. Those last few bosses were tough, but the ending was well worth it. >:| I loved the ending song. I thought it was pretty. My Ryu had a 1/512 D-ratio this time, much better. (from the sounds of it, 1/4 is the best, but extremely difficult to get, probably impossible the first time around...
(i've read there are 50 floors in Kokon Horay. I'm afraid of it though...)
Btw, I did see the soundtrack of BoF:DQ at MegaCon last week and it did say BoF V. *shrug* I like calling it BoF:DQ.
(last thing, minor spoilers for the series) You know, with BoF IV tying BoF I-III together so nicely, perhaps this is the last one? They've done all they can do, unless I'm just too close-minded. It's been a while since I've played anything but BoF IV, but if I'm remembering correctly, BoF III is the perfect set-up for BoF V...
Ah, nice to see this back on the front page. I just got this yesterday & I am enjoying it quite a bit, despite my usual 'eh' additude to RPGs. This one just grabbed me.

:| I know it's been said over and over, but it's a shame it was drowned out by all of the other epic-type games being released at the same time, you know, it being the one that actually tried to do something different with rpg's and such. Mehbe that whole "it's too short" thing got to people... But, really... *sigh...* Even if it was a little shorter than most rpg's (not counting restarting), the story was so well done and it didn't dance around the point, (meaning that in this way it was) like Panzer Dragoon Azel, Paper Mario, or Megaman Legends 2. (trying to prompt more discussion... STILL hasn't played the first MML)
I got this game about two days ago and love it so far. BoF is my favorite RPG series but I really didn't know what to think of the D-Counter, it sounded like a cheap way to force you to restart but you don't even notice it unless you overuse the dragon form.
I'm about 10 hours into the game and just got out of the ice caverns. the fight that you get into after that is no joke, had to change into a dragon twice 0_o, didn't want to but I haven't died yet and didn't want to start now. my D-counter shot up 20% in that fight alone though :(
I restart and got a little father this time (kick 3 Regents ass :)) but got killed in the 4 one :(Quote:

You went to Megacon? Me too! I should've put up a thread, I guess. I know Phoenix went last year, don't know if he did this year, though. Did you enter any of the game turneys? I thought I was a decent VF4 and CvsSnk2 player, but I got the floor mopped with my no skill self.
Hey guys, I have a general question. I am at the hard save after the Ice caves but before the boss. I have beat the bosses several times to get a lot of Party XP, & currently have around 31,000xp. My characters are at level 16 & my D counter is at 18. Should I use my party Xp & continue with the game, or is my D counter too high to beat the game as it is? I don't want to use up my party XP but have my counter too high to beat the game.

if you're at the ice caves... Hm... Your characters' levels are a little low, but so is the D-counter. Hold out to see how you do first. At least try to get some more party experience.
(=_= no, i didn't enter any of the game stuffs at Megacon. i'm afraid the only competitive game i'm ANY good at is DDR, and i'm not very good at it.)
Um, is 31,000, paty XP enough?
