I think it is. I'd use a save token, then see how many levels you go up using all that XP. If you can get around 25 I think you'll be fine as long as you don't unleash the dragonuntil the end of the game.

thanks guys!
I guess I'm gonna use the exp & try to finish the game without doing a restart.

Good luck, JM! ;)
Ok, I just wasted 5+ hours getting to level 46 of Kokan Horay and dying to a bunch of insects. I am very not amused. What a waste of my life.
Just picked this one up. For those who don't check the discount thread, it's on sale for $20 at Fry's Electronics.
I'm about three hours in and I'm just now getting used to the battle system. And let me tell you, those first three hours were harrowing indeed. I foolishly wasted my only Save Token at the Telecorder just outside the cave entrance and couldn't find another for hours. I think I spent the last 20 minutes with all my party members at 1 HP. But somehow I lived to tell the tale.
Oh, and I *heart* Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Anyone else been playing this lately?
I just came back to it after having beaten it once (starting from the beginning for the hell of it). I think the absolute most difficult point of the entire game is inventory management and deciding what to stock up on before a dungeon. Second being bosses. After that, I've pretty much got the game down pat. Haven't touched Kokon Horay though. I'm deeply scared of it.
Just have 50+ healing items and plenty of Party XP to waste (like, a couple million, if you want to be a wuss) and it's not bad. Just tedious. Two trips may be best, though, since there are so many items to get and so little inventory space.
It is official, this game is the greatest hardcore(in the of sense design) RPG of all time.
I got the week ago and I beat the game with no restarts or retries. I barely made it. The last boss fight was pretty hard, you had to use the dragon form to attack the guy so that the other characters can attack him. But the boss has this nasty attack that screwed me over(you know the one with I think ALL the status effects?), and since you can't use item in dragon form I was helpless because I had to switch back to and from the dragon firm and it was just getting on my nerves so i just did the d-breath yo finish him off(having ~20% D-ratio helped a lot :p).
Then there was the music, art, characters which pisses on Square games in all categories. Anyone that finds todays RPG's too easy should try this game.
I just bought this game a few days ago for $10, hehe, can't wait to play it! :)
I'm another recent buyer. I've really wanted it since it came out, but the $15 cost made me buy it now. I don't have time to start it right now (bst + other games) but I am looking forward to it. I love the way it's set up and I adore the graphics and art design. :)
Does anyone know who did the artwork for this game? I'd love to see more of their work.
