I doubt many of you know this, but I'm quite the BBQ sauce connoisseur. I put it on almost anything- sandwiches, eggs, Wheat Thins, you name it. There's several brands that I enjoy, but my absolute favorite of all time was Heinz's Honey BBQ sauce. Holy shit, this stuff was amazing. It's probably the only one that I could almost drink right out of the bottle, it's so smooth and delicious. Within the last 2-3 years, however, it's become harder and harder to find, to the point that it just can't be located anymore. Finally, desperate for a fix, I got the bright idea to check the Heinz website for an answer as to what had happened to my beloved Honey BBQ sauce. And, lo and behold, I found the answer in their consumer FAQs section:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! YOU BASTARDS!!!! You KILLED my BBQ sauce! For the fucking shitty Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauces! Dammit! Like, there wasn't enough room in the world for both sauces?!?! I hate you, Heinz. This is even worse than when Keebler changed Wheatables from a thin, crispy cracker to a thick, cardboard-like cracker. :(Quote:
Where can I find Heinz Barbecue Sauce/Hot Ketchup?
Heinz Barbecue Sauce was replaced by our line of Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauces, which are in national distribution. Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauces have a bold, intense flavor that's great for grilling, as a marinade, in the oven, on the side as a dip, or as a topping or condiment. Available in Original #7, Tennessee Hickory Mesquite, and Sizzling Smokehouse varieties.
Heinz Hot Ketchup has been replaced by our newest line of condiments, called Heinz Ketchup Kick'rs. We think you'll find Ketchup Kick'rs Hot & Spicy variety a wonderful replacement for Hot Ketchup, and should be on your local store shelves now. We think you'll get a "kick" out of them.
If you're feeling nice, dear reader, please stop by the Heinz site and send a quick email via their "Contact Us" section saying you'd like them to bring back their Honey BBQ sauce so Dolemite can sleep at night again. Thank you.
Anyone else have a favorite food changed or discontinued? Vent, people.
