Yes, but when they make piles like XXX and pull crazy stunts like Shadowman and Turok, it makes all games and gamers look depraved. Like that 60 Minutes bit that made the release of digital boobies sound like the fall of western civilization.Quote:

Didn't Mirra bail out on the in mid production? I remember him saying he didn't want a part of it any more. Is his name on the box?
Yeah, originally it was Dave Mirra's BMX XXX, but then he realized exactly what that was going to entail, and pulled out. For some reason, they decided to still make Dave Mirra 3 (hence the unfair competition part of the suit).Quote:

I wonder if he's also upset over the fact that Z-Axis' Dave Mirra engine was used to power BMX XXX. This has led to his name being mentioned in reviews of BMX XXX...
Acclaim screwed up on this game.
They have published some good stuff as Ammadeau said- if it weren't for them, we may not have had US versions of Psychic Force 2012, RC de GO, Power Shovel, etc.
I won't be buying BMX XXX, but I'll still be watching Acclaim to see what they publish.
Wow, there's a seriously stupid bunch of posts in here.
It's not about liking or not liking the game, or how BMX XXX made the gaming industry look like a bunch of pervs because, yet again, the mass media doesn't know how to portray it other than as a bunch of retards with no life who'll never get laid expending their energy on stupid useless pasttimes that have the only benefit of keeping these morons off the street. This is a business case, not an opinion case. Like Acclaim or not, Mirra doesn't seem to have a leg to stand on in what appears to be a baseless lawsuit.
Oh, I know. How about this- we don't like BMX XXX so how about a whole slew of laws regulating what can go into games for content? Now you'll never have to worry about a game like that coming out and making your hobby look bad again. A brilliant plan, start lobbying your congressman today!
Bottom line- Acclaim made a bad game. Acclaim lost money. Acclaim is punished by an indifferent market. It's over, move on.

Where the heck did extrapolate this from?Quote:

I don't mind the sex and violence if there is a purpose. My complaint with Acclaim is their inclusion of a crappy gimmick that adds so little to the game. I feel the same way about the cel shading in Auto Modellista and bullet time in nearly every action game since the Matrix.
I just noticed that the ankle bracelets are on the right front paw, not the left front paw... hmmmm....Quote:

Burgundy hit it right on the head, All Star Baseball is the best baseball game ever made and for that alone Acclaim needs to stay in business. As for Dave Mirra, I think his suing for 21 million dollars over "ruining his good name" is hilarious, since nobody had ever even heard of him before Acclaim started using his name.
Mirra has no case I think. I mean after all his name is not in the games title, and he is not in the game, nor is there even a picture of him in the game or ads. Go for it Dave!
