GBA SP launches in Japan

With the North American release still over a month away, today marked the release of the Game Boy Advance SP in Japan. Literally hundreds of eager gamers could be seen waiting outside shops to purchase their personal copy. Currently, the system is available in three colors (silver, blue and black; the latter being a personal favorite among many handheld owners).

David Gosen, Managing Director, Nintendo of Europe stated: "As we anticipated, the reception the new GBA SP has received in Japan is fantastic. The stylish pocket-sized design, the front lit screen and rechargeable battery ensure the ultimate playing experience for gamers on the go."

I think the "importers" are too busy playing them to post anything :p

Actually, the "importers" are thinking whether to spend $170-$190 or wait a week or two and pay $120-$130 for the GBA SP

Actually, you're right..why pay almost $200 when I can wait a week and get it for $130?

Most importers got massive shortages, but Lik-Sang seems to have done the best. I've got an order with Lik-Sang, and as soon as I get my SP I'll write up a feature about it :)

I paid $200 for mine... but I got the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance bundle one :)
