Looking for new reader review output for possible column.

I haven't forgotten about that "survey" thread and will be presenting it to the team and doing my best to accomodate as many as we can acquire (guys like Nintendo of course will be practically impossible).

I been thinking about bringing back my old column (I really wish Reno would bring back TNL is Reno) and addressing some intriguing themes. I eventually stopped it because I got burnt out. A lot of editors don't even do that anymore (remember the Weekend Warrior and Hi-Fi's columns from GameFan?)

In any case, I am considering including a "reader review" column of some sort. For example, if the current theme was "retro games", I'd zone in on a specific aspect and then invite readers (forum community included of course) to send in their feedback, which in turn would be featured in the next feature.

I am especially intrigued by the current discussion "Evolution in Fighters" which Reno started and hopefully he could help me with that (would be even better if he handled it himself). Or I may just go on a tangent similiar to that, or something entirely different. Another idea I was considering was giving readers the opportunity to send in an editorial based upon various events in the gaming industry (space cowboy was speaking to me about this and it definitely sounded interesting enough to persue further)...

well, the submissions are subject to approval. but it's a good way of promoting really solid submissions - much like the "Letter of the Month" in print publications.

As long as there's an approval process, it should turn out fine. I could flesh out my 2D vs. 3D gaming thread from way back when into a full-fledged column rather easily by elaborating on more points, and citing more examples.
