I may have to build myself one though, as I'm not sure if Matt will make me one :(

Shit, maybe I should start selling these things, how much are you people willing to pay for one?
Laughably simple? For who? I see a shit load of wires in that box. My knowledge of electronics is 0. I've got two Psikyo PCBs and I'm pretty anxious to play them, so if anyone's got some recommended reading material (Superguns For Dummies?)...Quote:
Superguns are laughably simple, all it takes to make one yourself is time and patience. Depending on how much extra shit you put in it (arcade controls vs pad, comp/s-vid vs rgb) the cost is very minimal. If you're like me, and you don't value your own cost of labour, you could put one of these together for like $20, with most of the cost going to the JAMMA harness.
Who knows. I asked him a few months ago and I got a pretty flat no.Quote:

My ESPrade board sits under my roommates bed, cheating death everyday, covered in layers of bubble wrap and resting in the package it came in. PCBs are frighteningly fragile.

Master - I wouldn't count on it. I'm still incredibly thankful that he even went through building this one.
Yea, everyone who can build them says they're cake, it seems... But like Rob said, it's a tad bit different when you haven't even touched a soldering iron before.
That thing is truly bold. I have seen many superguns and they all look ghetto compared to that one. Their ease of creation is probably what causes so many hobbyist builders to not make them look so nice. Matt is certainly more than skilled. Rather than ask for a unit like that, I have lifted the pictures from this very thread and will be using them for inspiration. Now if I could only lift some time from a thread somewhere...

Amazingly stylish. Props on the game choices, as well :)
http://www.happcontrols.com/ Is a good place for controller components, but they are all of the heavy, clicky american kind which some people don't like. Right now I am working on a track ball controller for my copy of Ultra Denryu Iraira Ball, which is like irritating maze/stick. The track ball on this thing is insane! 4.5 inches in diameter and translucent red, right now i'm trying to figure out how to back-light it. The original arcade machine had air-jets that would shoot you in the face when you touched the sides of the maze, if only I could figure out how to hook up an air compressor...
