Now everyone in the room (including your guest) can hear what is going in the headset. Unfortunately the following setup does not always allow you to talk on XBOX live but at least you also can record all of the conversations in the headset with these few items from Radio Shack= Item 17.855 Wireless Phone Recording Controller + Item 277-1008C (Mini Amplified Speaker)=really cheap/9v battery lasts a long time/ loud as a speaker-phone,(you may substitute any other pair of amplified speakers with 1/8th in. jack in place of the 277-1008C). Both the 17.855 and 277.1008C should only run about $30 together.
To listen to chatter in the headset:
Leave the attachment in the controller, but pull out the headset part. Then insert into the "To phone" wire on the 17.855 into the LIVE attachment. Take "to recorder" wire on the 17.855 and plug it into the "input" jack on the 277-1008C. Now turn on the volume and listen in. Now everyone in the room can hear the chatter on the headset.
To Record the chatter do the following:
Plug the "to recorder" wire into a mic jack of a digital/md/cassette recorder. You could also Y off this wire and run one to headset and another to recorder.
You may also decide to plug your detached Live headset into the Headphone Jack on the 17.855= This takes a little practice, (you kinda have to jiggle the wire around a little, don't fully plug it in), but it is really fun when you get this to work because now you can chat and others in the room can hear the chatter at the same time. Watch for audio feedback though.
The only reason I mentioned Radio Shack is that in case you don't like the setup- you can always return the stuff to them, I think they give you a month for refunds.
All in all- this is really fun to do.
